Yet across Ireland our rural communities are suffering. Jobs losses particularly in the construction sector have hit our rural communities hard. Incomes are falling. But we cannot just stand back and let that happen.<BR/><BR/>Sinn Féin Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development Michelle Gildernew said that "We are developing a new relationship with Europe and the EU Commission, unshackling agriculture in the Six County from representation in Europe by the British government and British farming policy."<BR/><BR/>So, is there any progress??Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27932062.post-61254576767820215982008-12-08T22:22:00.000+00:002008-12-08T22:22:00.000+00:00But which companies are really "worried about the ...But which companies are really "worried about the uncertainty" of Ireland's rejection of Lisbon? It is a false canard put about by the Yes campaign, which of course stacked the Irish Parliament's committee! They said what the Yes campaign was trying to say (without saying it well) during the campaign. They dared not then because it would have been challenged. Catherine Day's comments are absurd and self serving, as you would expect. What I want to know is whether the Irish Parliament supports state attempts to repress the rights of the No campaign to coverage on state radio and tv in the next referendum (and the one after it that fails). Already the smear campaign on state radio and tv has begun against the No campaign leaders, and the move to legally deny the No campaign proper coverage is well under way. If so, it will be a shameful day for democracy and there will be nothing 'positive' about a narrow victory for the Yes campaign based upon smears of the No side actively produced by state radio and tv, and a refusal to allow them balanced access.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
